Book 2- 1908 to 1958: "Glimpses Of A Glorious Past: An Informal History of The Lawrence School, Lovedale"

The School, then called The Lawrence Asylum, founded in Ootacamund on September 6, 1858 has been in existence for 50 years.

In Book 2, the second of three volumes, we cover the 50 years from 1908 to 1958.

This rare picture- for these times- shows the Princes, father and son-who together epitomized the School Band for generations of Lawrencians. Extreme left is Mr Harold Victor Prince, who joined the School in 1945, and extreme right his son, Denzil Prince, both Bandmasters for decades between them. Denzil was Head Boy in 1954 and took over as Bandmaster from his father in 1958.
